Summertime but a week old,
Willed by slacken farmhands.
A British summertime,
Kept alive by girls.
Momentary colour.
The grand parade.

To this I awoke again,
Brushing dust of the exterior.
Default through absence,
A year of waste.
Dog days.
The riot time.

Summertime but a week old,
Clouds smothering the virgin sun.
A British summertime,
Innocence again on display.
Youths released.
The idle time.
